At New Christian Prayer Church, we believe prayer is our direct connection with God. One of the most powerful ways to grow deeper in our relationship with the Lord is by understanding and practicing the Christian prayer watch hours—specific times throughout the day and night when believers are encouraged to pray.
Christian Prayer Watch Hours
Prayer watch hours are eight specific 3-hour blocks that divide the 24-hour day. These are known as the 8 prayer watches in biblical tradition. The Bible often mentions these watches during key spiritual events.
These are the watches:
-
First Watch: 6 PM – 9 PM
-
Second Watch: 9 PM – 12 AM
-
Third Watch: 12 AM – 3 AM
-
Fourth Watch: 3 AM – 6 AM
-
Fifth Watch: 6 AM – 9 AM
-
Sixth Watch: 9 AM – 12 PM
-
Seventh Watch: 12 PM – 3 PM
-
Eighth Watch: 3 PM – 6 PM
Each prayer watch hour has spiritual significance and invites us to focus on specific types of prayer—such as worship, intercession, thanksgiving, and warfare.
